The Purpose of Serving

Often when I go out to restaurants, there are servers all over trying to make sure that they serve their customers to the best of their abilities. They want to make sure that the customer receives impeccable service. And of course, they want to make sure they get a good tip. But in every day life, part of our purpose is to serve others. How we serve them speaks volumes to our one and only true God.

So I’ll ask you, what does serving mean to you? Do you think you are serving enough? Could you serve better? The bible says in Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

What will be your reasonable service? Service is the act of helping or doing work for someone. It is an act of assistance. From your uprising to your down setting, service should be a part of our daily routine. There are so many ways to serve, you serve on your job, in your home and even in your church. In everything we do, we should do them as unto the Lord.  Here are some ways to determine if you are serving with a purpose.

Are you serving with an attitude or gratitude? How do people respond to your service? How do you feel when you are serving? Grateful or Bothered? Should there be adjustments? Just take a moment and think about the ways you serve, is your service pleasing unto the Lord? If not, what ways can you improve?

In essence, Let all things be done unto the Lord.

Task
Ask yourself ‘How are you presenting your self daily?” (Is it good, bad or could be improved)?

How would you like to serve?

In what capacity?

Serve……………..
